ReviewsPhonological Awareness Series: Afasic Autumn 2004 Special Children November/December 2004 |
Afasic Autumn 2004
"This is the first disc in the new Phonological Awareness Series. The team of contributors is impressive and the ideas for the activities are good, fun and based soundly in speech and language theory. The illustrations are well drawn and the disc is easy to use. I particularly liked the little cartoon clips offered at the end of each activity as a reward. It is also nice to have a choice of male or female voices..." "This is a good start for this new company and I wish them well and look forward to seeing the next titles in the series on syllabification, segmentation and alliteration. All my own children (aged 2, 5 and 10) enjoyed playing the games, but some of my clients with difficulties in this area struggled initially without considerable help. However, the games and the format are motivating and the client group and age range targeted will, I am sure, want to persevere with this CD as it is a familiar medium." "I know how much the development costs are for such materials so I think that the price is probably pitched about right in the first instance, but would hope that it might come down in the future so that parents are encouraged to buy the product on the advice of their therapist." |
